1% Wild
We love the Adirondacks – it’s beauty, it’s peaceful energy, the wild creatures (walking on two legs or four), and most of all the assorted kinds of exploration that happen either in the woods, on the rock, in the water, or on the snow. Dak Bar is inspired by the simplicity of life here, the rustic culture, and its boundless adventure. We want to make a difference in and for this special place.
Dak Bar gives back to the Adirondacks and its Forever Wild designation by advocating for environmental organizations that preserve the integrity of the Park’s rugged landscape. We strive to increase the viability and visibility of their noble work with our 1% Wild program, which donates 1% of our profits to conservation groups that protect the wild places we love to play in.
We pay tribute to our furry friends amid these wild habitats by designating them as our “Flavor Mascots” – those adorable animals on the labels that make you smile. When we partner with an environmental group as part of our 1% Wild program, they are assigned their very own Flavor Mascot and are featured on that label so we can direct awareness to their remarkable cause. Take a bite and join us in supporting these extraordinary organizations to help keep the wild alive!
1% Wild. Protecting the wild places we love to play in, one bite at a time.
Our Partners
The Adirondack Land Trust protects forests, farmlands, waters and wild places that, in turn, contribute to healthy communities, bolster climate change resiliency, and provide habitat for wildlife. Since 1984, they have protected 27,000 acres at 94 sites in 34 towns across the Adirondacks.
Supporting the Adirondack Council with the Beaver Bar
The aim of the Adirondack Council is to promote and protect the heart and soul of this incredible place we love so much. As part of the Adirondack Council promotions, Dak Bars are sent to each new membership or renewal.
“The Adirondack Council is pleased to partner with Dak bar to offer healthy, locally made energy bars to our supporters who care about the environment, community and culture of the Adirondack Park. Dak bar represent the ingenuity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and commitment to healthy living and appreciation of nature that the Council values and encourages as key ingredients of the Adirondack Park’s sustainable future.” – Diane W. Fish, Deputy Director of the Adirondack Council
Encouraging responsible recreation with the Jackrabbit bar
It started out with maps needed for environmental research, but then Green Goat maps realized the need for beautiful maps that people could actually use. They are researchers at heart and have a partner company called Adirondack Research that does GIS mapping and environmental research all over the world. With our passion for the environment, and the need for their explorers to have food to power through, a beautiful partnership was formed.
